Joshua D. Fine
Josh Fine has spent the bulk of his 24-year legal career as general counsel and president of a Denver-based commercial real estate development firm. An expert in solving complex legal issues with a keen appreciation of business risks and constraints, Josh understands that winning a legal battle is meaningless unless business objectives are also achieved.
Josh has experience in a wide array of commercial real estate matters. He has developed over $250 million of urban real estate, including a high-rise hotel, a senior housing community, office, retail, restaurants, and self-storage facilities. He has handled every aspect of the development process, including negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, running due diligence processes, managing environmental regulatory matters, obtaining entitlements and rezoning, navigating historic landmark renovation approvals, spearheading neighborhood and community outreach efforts, advising on complex financing structures, negotiating loan documents, formation of entities and drafting of partnership documents, negotiating and administering architectural and construction contracts, and leasing. As the general counsel and president of a 100-employee company, Josh is also well versed in general corporate legal issues such as employment and intellectual property matters. Prior to leading a real estate development company, Josh worked as a real estate attorney in the Boston office of a large, international law firm and in the Denver office of a boutique law firm specializing in project development. Josh’s real estate projects have won multiple awards, including the Downtown Denver Award and the Historic Denver Community Preservation Award. He was featured in the Denver Business Journal and CBS4 News in a series on professionals making an impact on their industries. He is a member of Young Presidents Organization. |
